           Over the years, we have seen how tough it's become to get a break-through in the music industry, the fierce competition have proven that talent alone is often times not a guarantee for success. You'll definitely need a platform to build your success on, and music schools can at least provide you with the expertise and training you need for a start.

         Our favourite stars, from Alicia keys, to john Williams, and a host of others have enjoyed the benefits of getting a formal musical education.
       Below is a list of the top music schools for 2017:

1. The juliard school: juliard school is one of the best music schools on this planet, it is located in New York city, founded in 1905, though the school has a low acceptance rate (at 8%), the school can boast of an incredible list of alumni. Their tuition fee is said to be around 💲39,720.

2. Curtis institute of music (Philadelphia, PA): this school is the most selective music college in the world, with their acceptance rate just below 5%. Over the past decade, Curtis have graduated the likes of lang lang, and yuja Wang, who are renown music sensations. What sets this incredible school above others is that it is completely free of charge.

3. Jacobs school of music: this school is one of the biggest music schools in the u.s, it has graduated many notable acts in the music industry.

4. Yale school of music: Yale school of music is located on college street, in new Haven Connecticut, u.s. it was established in 1854.  The school is a word wide leader in educating creative individuals, thereby claiming a place in the ivy league.

5. Manhattan school of music: the school was founded in 1917, located in the upper west side of New York city. The tuition fee for this school is said to be 💲44,100.

6. Berklee college of music: Berkeley college of music was founded in 1945, the school focusses on the study and practice of contemporary music, it is the first music school in the u.s to include jazz in it's curriculum. With 4,131 students, the school offers several programs, like songwriting, music management, music teacher education, general music performance, and music therapy.

7. New England conservatory: this school was founded in 1867, located in Boston Massachusetts. The school is recognised to have one of the acoustically-perfect performance space, with 30% admission rate.

8. Columbia university: founded in 1986.the school's music department has a long and venerable reputation.  The school's curriculum composition caters for a small number of highly qualified candidates to be trained in a wide variety of contemporary music style. The acceptance rate for this school is low, just around 7%.

9. Oberlin conservatory of music: Oberlin conservatory have been able to maintain an excellent reputation, despite being the oldest conservatory in the u.s. it has fewer than 600 students, with a 25% acceptance rate, out of which 90% are offered tuition assistance.

10. Academy of vocal arts (Philadelphia Pennsylvania):  this is a perfect place for aspiring opera singers. Founded in 1934 by Helen Corning warden. A.V.A gives lessons in French, German, Italian, movement and dance, stage craft, stage combat, and professional development.
